Towering at 56 floors on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, the Belhasa Burj Al Salam is promised to be a spectacular site in the Dubai Skyline.
This USD179 million project involves the construction of three towers, comprising of a hotel, residential and office tower. The office tower will consist of a ground floor, 4 basement levels, a mezzanine level, 50 additional floors, 4 parking levels, and 2 mechanical floors. While the hotel and residential tower will feature an additional 2 floors.
The three towers are linked together at the base by a four storey podium, which will contain a car parking building, comprising of four basement levels, a ground floor and 12 additional floors, including a health club.
The project to date, has used 110 Safety Net Fans, 300 Steel Mesh Barriers and 150 Socketed Posts.

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is developing Sidra Medical and Research Centre in the Education City located in Sidra, west of Doha.

In January 2008, the joint venture between Spain’s Obrscon Huarte Lain and Contrack was awarded the construction contract. Now under construction on a site to the north of the Medical College, Sidra is designed by renowned architect Cesar Pelli. Constructed of steel, glass and white ceramic tile, the dramatic hospital structure will have three atriums that will serve as indoor healing gardens and divide it into three main sections.
Sidra Hospital is the first to be constructed in this complex. It will be a nine storey hospital offering 412 beds, and further accommodation for 350 nurses will be built. The centre will include parking for approximately 2,000 vehicles. The project is expected to be completed in 2012.
Safety Net Fans and Steel Mesh Barriers were selected as the edge protection systems to protect the workforce during work at height.

Currently under construction, the Makkah Clock Tower will have 76 storeys, 577m high and feature a 40m clock that will be five times larger than Big Ben.
At the heart of the Clock Tower, will be Fairmont Hotels. Offering 858 guest rooms, and Fairmont Gold, an exclusive ’hotel within a hotel’ product’.
When completed in 2010, the tower will serve as the focal point of the iconic Abraj Al Bait Complex, which is part of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project whose mandate is to upgrade the precincts of the Two Holy Mosques. The complex will include seven towers adjacent to the Holy Mosque, the holiest site in Islam.
On this project, Combisafe has supplied the contractor’s Cimtas with temporary edge protection and Safety Net Fans.
