COMBISAFE® - LEADER IN TEMPORARY COLLECTIVE PROTECTION AT HEIGHT

Heron Tower

Project Detail

Heron Tower, London

Completed in 2010, Heron Tower is currently the tallest building in London.

Designed by acclaimed architects, Kohn Pederson Fox, the new addition to the London skyline at 110 Bishopsgate is a new multi-purpose building providing world class office space.

The slender glass and stainless steel structure of 46 storeys (242m) tall provides 40,836m² of office space, divided across 36 floors with a public restaurant and bar on the top three levels.

"Due to the busy location of this site and the height of the structure, a higher level of protection was required on this project, and the Safety Net Fan and Safety Net Fan Maxi provided the solution.

Due to the large steel beams on this project, Combisafe's standard attachments were not suitable, but they were able to adapt the connection details of the Safety Net Fan to suite the size of the steel.

A public footpath and local businesses needed to stay open while construction was in progress, and Combisafe was able to adapt the standard Safety Net Fans to be erected to the hoardings.

The Safety Net Fans provided protection for passers-by from debris whilst letting in natural light to the footpath.

This enabled access for the public to remain open and local businesses to carry on trading, which was a major achievement on this project."
