The innovative UBIX® temporary roof system from Combisafe has proven its outstanding versatility at a Summer Live Concert in Ta Qali National Park, Malta, allowing events specialist Matrix Scaffolding Limited, to meet a tight seven day deadline.
Working in temperatures of up to 45°C, the lightweight and robust UBIX® system was ideal allowing the company to construct a temporary roof system that would support stage lighting and sound rigs and as well as meeting the highest levels of health and safety.
Designed with safety as the top priority, UBIX® is the lightest and most economical temporary roofing system on the market. Because it uses only a small number of components, it can achieve total coverage on site, quickly, safely and economically, making it perfect for the fast application required.
It was the first time Matrix Scaffolding had used the UBIX® system and so the team of operatives was assisted by Combisafe's Field Service manager. By choosing the UBIX® system, the scaffolders benefited from its quick and easy handling and simple erection. No specialist tools or lifting gear was required, meaning the system could be managed at height by a relatively small team, and with the boltless fixings and loose components eliminated, all parts could be snapped together for the rapid assembly process.
"We hadn't used the UBIX® roof system before and so there was uncertainty about how the system would fit together, as well as the stresses of a tight timescale and ensuring the delivery of equipment before the event. However, with the help of Mick Coulson from Combisafe, the whole system was extremely easy to use and the job was completed to meet the deadline,"
said Danny Shoobert, Managing Director at Matrix Scaffolding Limited.
"The system proved so quick and easy to assemble that we have used it twice more since the Malta Summer Live event," he added. "We incorporated the UBIX® roof system into our scaffolding at the Oriflame Conference and Maltese Carnival for front of house structures. We received a very positive reaction for both and hopefully we'll get to use UBIX® even more this year."
The UBIX® roof was delivered on time and to an exceptional standard thanks to the dedication and hard work of the team of Matrix operatives as well as the ease, speed and safety of the Combisafe system. Using the flexible but sturdy UBIX temporary roof, one of Malta's biggest music events in recent years went ahead as planned and proved to be a resounding success with the many thousands of spectators in attendance.
