The Safety Net Fan from Combisafe
The construction Industry is statistically the most dangerous sector to work in, with over 50% of all fatalities within the industry relating to 'working at height' incidents1. Many construction related accidents are recognised as workers falling from height; however an often overlooked but equally critical number of cases are those where damage is sustained by falling objects.
The Safety Net Fan (SNF) from Combisafe is the latest innovation in high-rise protection, specifically designed to catch falling objects, debris and people. Setting new standards in the protection of people and property, the SNF has been manufactured to comply with the European standard EN 1263 system T. The Class B1 net comes with 60 x 60mm mesh and 20mm x 20mm debris net as standard. This combined layer net is able to catch considerably smaller particles of debris therefore protecting property and people at ground level; making it ideal for built-up areas. Using reinforced aluminium tubing, the SNF can be moved into position by crane and a choice of fittings enables the SNF to be integrated with virtually any structure.
The Safety Net Fan meets needs not covered by conventional methods of high-rise protection, safely catching items and debris by containing them and absorbing energy, which prevents
objects bouncing off or breaking through. The versatility of the SNF allows for easy repositioning and attachment; no other safety net offers this level of protection.
The SNF is the ideal choice of high-rise, working protection in compact, inner-city locations and improves access, providing much greater flexibility, being quick and easy to reposition. The SNF can be fitted around corners and can include a unique 'wind-lock' feature.
Where overhangs are present, a 'maxi' option allows for increased width of protection. A wide choice of fixing attachments enables the SNF to be fitted to scaffolding, building frontage and overhangs securely. The SNF offers a wide range of benefits in protection against falling objects and debris.

THE SAFETY NET FAN FROM COMBISAFE. A SMALL CHANGE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Attachments are available for scaffolding, facades, floor slabs, steel and concrete frames. Loose slab attachments and offset beams are also in the range, together with knee-braces and extensions. Full training in SNF installation is provided by Combisafe, backed by additional on-site support. A network of Approved Installers can also undertake full fitting if required. SNFs are also available to hire through a rental network.
Case Study
Project: Heron Tower, London
Client: Heron International
Main Contractor: Skanska
Products: Safety Net Fan Maxi & Safety Net Fan
"Due to the large steel beams on this project, Combisafe's standard attachments were not suitable, but they were able to adapt the connection details of the Safety Net Fan to suit the size of the steel. A public footpath and local businesses needed to stay open while construction was in progress, and Combisafe was able to adapt the standard Safety Net Fans to be erected to the hoardings. The Safety Net Fans provided protection for passersby from debris whilst letting in natural light to the footpath. This enabled access for the public to remain open and local businesses to carry on trading."
